Acquisition Announcement: El Dorado Canyon

KingMe Game Vault is proud to announce the acquisition of exclusive worldwide rights—including all implementation, publication, and merchandising—for Benjamin Weemes’ acclaimed indie design, El Dorado Canyon. As the foundational artifact in the KingMe Game Vault collection, this title represents the pinnacle of disciplined, independent tabletop architecture.

Set on the volatile periphery of a late 19th-century boomtown, El Dorado Canyon rejects frontier romanticism to explore the deep economic and social friction between civic order and lawlessness. Its architecture relies on a kinetic, high-engagement environment driven by simultaneous action-selection and multi-use card design, entirely eliminating traditional downtime. The game’s most distinctive innovation is its unique victory condition: a player’s final score is dictated entirely by the lesser of two metrics—accumulated wealth or criminal infamy. To succeed, one must maintain a disciplined, calculated balance between economic prosperity and social notoriety.

Originally brought to life in 2015 via a successful grassroots Kickstarter campaign, El Dorado Canyon has earned a lasting reputation on archiving platforms like The Game Crafter as a meticulously tested, masterfully balanced hidden gem of the independent design renaissance.
