TOPIC: The Founding Mandate of KingMe Game Vault
FOCUS: Portfolio Mission & Vision Statement
There is a distinct phenomenon in tabletop gaming: sitting down to play an artifact that is decades old, in worn physical condition, yet mechanically brilliant. These are not always “perfect” designs, but they possess an undeniable, enduring spark. Historical examples include titles like Kremlin, Empire Builder, Circus Maximus, or the original Dune.
While modern crowdfunding has beautifully democratized game development and birthed incredible new titles, it has also accelerated a cultural deficit. For every new game pushed to market, a classic is forgotten—left on a shelf, out of print, and locked away.
Given the immense hurdles required to consolidate legacy rights, it is understandable why mainstream publishers pass them over. Navigating the tangled webs of original creators, developers, artists, legacy publishers, and estates is a grueling administrative process. Modern publishers naturally prefer to pluck pre-validated successes from Crowdfunding Platforms, print a run or two, and move on.
KingMe Game Vault was founded to do the heavy lifting that others avoid. Our mandate is to track down, untangle, and acquire forgotten games, hidden gems, and excellent titles trapped in licensing limbo. We do not view board games merely as disposable consumer products. They are structural assets—cultural artifacts that deserve to be stewarded, preserved, and elevated into the permanent cultural lexicon alongside the industry’s permanent staples.
The vault is open. The work has begun.
